House 40, City Beach

This house in City Beach has been designed to take advantage of, and reflect the beachside context.

Winner of the 2017 HIA Home of the Year award

Designed as a casual beachside house with space to entertain and for children to play. This L-Shaped plan was designed with a freestanding pool house forming a large north facing courtyard to take advantage of the winter sun.

This three level house was designed with the main living area on the ground floor level opening up to a double volume loggia and large swimming pool and garden.

Large double glazed sliding doors to the main living areas open completely to transform the entire house into a verandah.

The upper level contains the main bedroom, large dressing room, ensuite, study, secondary living space with kitchenette and a terrace overlooking the ocean.
